St. Peter’s Hospital welcomes volunteers age 18 and older as a help to patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteers can realize tremendous self-satisfaction from helping others. Volunteering is also an excellent way to meet new friends, learn new skills, and discover how one person can make a difference in another’s life.
In order to be a St. Peter’s Hospital volunteer, individuals must commit to a minimum of hours and time. Typically, volunteers give at least four hours, one day a week for a one year minimum.
The availability of positions is usually greatest during weekday, daytime hours. Volunteering is considered to be of mutual benefit to both the volunteer and St. Peter’s patients and mission. Volunteers should be flexible and willing to do a variety of tasks in exchange for the chance to experience a professional setting.
St. Peter’s requires an application, background check, interview, and orientation before new volunteers can begin. Volunteers are matched to positions based upon skills and qualifications.
*Please note, due to the length of the application process and training period, St. Peter's does not accept volunteers who need just a few hours of community service, or students who will be in Helena for only a nine month period. Ideally, our volunteers commit to a minimum of one year of service.
Those interested in volunteering at St. Peter’s should complete an application and a release of information form.
The forms below can be filled out online if you have Adobe Reader. They will open in your browser and you may type in the information, then print the forms and sign.
