St. Peter's Board of Directors Narrows Search to Three Finalists for President and CEO

Date: 05/10/17

St. Peter’s Hospital today announced the Board of Directors has selected three candidates as finalists for the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position. Final interviews with the Board, senior management, leadership team and medical staff will be held on May 17, May 25 and May 26, and a final decision is expected at the next Board of Directors meeting.

The identities of the finalists are not being disclosed at this time as a professional courtesy and out of respect for their privacy. St. Peter’s expects to announce the new President and CEO in June, and anticipates the individual will be in place this summer. There will be multiple opportunities to meet and interview the new CEO following the announcement.

“The Search Committee has done a tremendous job leading this process for us, and has made sure that our focus is deliberate, thorough and inclusive of our many key stakeholder groups,” said Board Chair Mark Taylor. “The three candidates we’ve selected have impressive track records, but more importantly, they share our commitment to realigning the priorities at St. Peter’s with the evolving needs of the people we serve.”

St. Peter's Hospital contracted with national executive search firm BE Smith to recruit and screen more than 150 candidates for the position and advance nine candidates for recommendation.  A CEO Search Committee, established by the Board of Directors and comprised of eleven individuals representing the Board, community, employees and medical staff, conducted extensive due diligence to advance a recommendation of five candidates for first round interviews. Interviews with the Search Committee took place on May 3 and 4 before selecting the three finalists.
