President & CEO Candidates to be Interviewed

Date: 11/01/12

Six candidates have been chosen from a pool of nearly 200 applicants for St. Peter’s President & CEO position. The candidates will be interviewed next week by a Search Committee with hopes of choosing a new leader by the end of November.

Candidates will be probed for how their experience relates to St. Peter’s needs, their strengths and weaknesses, motivation in seeking the position, key qualities, executive presence and communication style.  Two to three finalists will be selected by the committee.

The finalists will be in Helena later in November to meet with St. Peter’s Board of Directors, Medical Staff, employees and the community. The Board is expected to select the new President & CEO at its regular meeting on November 27.

The public is invited to meet the finalists and provide their input to the Board at a community forum on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in St. Peter’s Education Center.  Each candidate will make a brief presentation and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Quick Leonard Kieffer (QLK) of Chicago, a leading healthcare executive search firm, was retained by St. Peter’s to assist with the search.  QLK was selected by St. Peter’s Board Search Committee on July 13 and their staff obtained the Helena community’s input on the process at a forum on August 6.  QLK later completed a landscape assessment and made recommendations for next steps to the Search Committee.

Serving on the Search Committee are hospital Board members Dr. Tom Strizich, Sheila Hogan, and Mark Taylor, and former Board members Mary Sheehy-Moe (chair) and Candace Cain.  Also serving are John Green representing Senior Management; Dr. Dick Sargent, Helena physician; and Mike Cooney and Joan Miles, public representatives.

Those attending the forum should use St. Peter’s Main Entrance.  For more information, visit or call 444-2135.
