A native Montanan, Alissa Abentroth, M.D.  attended Carroll College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology.  She received her Medical Degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery internship and residency at the Hospital of St. Raphael, affiliated with Yale University.  Dr. Abentroth participated in international clerkship programs in OB/GYN, pediatrics and surgery at Kikuyu Hospital in Kenya and in colorectal surgery at the Royal Victorian Hospital in Belfast, N. Ireland.

Dr. Abentroth is Board Certified in General Surgery and a member of the Association of Women Surgeons.  She has been published in Journal of Investigative Medicine and the Intermountain Journal of Sciences.

Dr. Abentroth and her husband were very excited to return to Helena to raise their two children.
