The St. Peter's Health Internal Medicine care team provides comprehensive medical care for adults, focusing on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting patients over the age of 18.

St. Peter’s Approach to Internal Medicine

St. Peter’s Health Medical Group employs board–certified Internists in its clinics and also at the Regional Medical Center through its Hospitalists—physicians who only treat patients while they are hospitalized.

Internists generally undergo three years of additional training after graduation from medical school. During this training, internists acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to diagnose and manage both acute and chronic illnesses affecting adults. They also receive training in the areas of disease prevention and health maintenance.
