St. Peter’s Medical Staff Officers for 2012-13 were recently elected at the group’s annual meeting.  They will assume their new positions June 1.

Serving as Chief of Staff will be Pediatrician Tom Strizich, M.D., of Partners in Pediatrics. Surgeon John Galt, M.D., of Medical Park Surgery Clinic is Chief of Staff Elect and obstetrician/gynecologist Drew Malany, M.D., of Helena OB/GYN Associates will serve as secretary.

Also at the meeting, medical oncologist Tom Weiner, M.D., was presented with the 2012 Most Valuable Physician Award recognizing his commitment to excellence in both patient care and medicine.  Dr. Weiner was also thanked for his service as Chief of staff the past two years.

St. Peter’s Medical Staff is intricately involved in carrying out, and in providing leadership in, all patient care functions conducted by practitioners who have hospital privileges. The Medical Staff officers are responsible for establishing and maintaining patient care standards and oversight of the quality of care, treatment, and services rendered by practitioners privileged through the medical staff process.
