Volunteer Opportunites at St. Peter's Hospital

Cancer Treatment Center Resource Center
Two to four hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Assists cancer patients and their families. Manage the Cancer Resource Library's books, pamphlets, video tapes and other resources

Transition and Life Choices
Two hours - weekdays
Clean and fill Comfort Boxes, inventory items and place orders. Data entry on patient log.

Maria Dean Imaging Center
Assist patients to register, triage appointments, and replenish refreshments and magazines

Hospitality Cart
Friday, Saturday, Sunday -- 1 p.m. until rounds completed (usually two hours). Visiting patients in rooms, providing coffee, candy, magazines, and toiletries

Gift Shop
Daily, 4 shifts between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Cashiers, customer service, stocking shelves, inventory.

Front Desk Receptionist
Greet visitors, provide wayfinding and wheelchair assistance.

Chapel
Transport patients to and from chapel for service, routine patient contact under supervision of chaplain.

APEX (Durable Medical Equipment)
Filing

Quality & Education
Assembling notebooks a few times a month.

Medical Records
Sort visits and put things in Medical Record number order in a sorter and re-cover old charts (put stickers over the old names).

Obstetrics
Photograph newborn babies and upload them to web site nursery, prepare congratulatory card for OB staff.

Graphics
Graphic design of forms and publications. Print job assistance (folding, compiling, hole punching, delivery).

Public Relations
Special events and projects on-call basis, preparing mailings, filing, and data entry. Represent Hospital at health fairs and other events, video tape lectures as needed.

Charts
Preparing patient charts for various medical floors as needed.

Foundation Office
Special events and projects, on-call basis, preparing mailings, filing, and data entry.
