St. Peter’s Oncology Certified Nurses are nationally certified and committed to providing the best possible cancer care available to their patients.
Mary Thomas, Vicky Rae Byrd, Lyanne Denherder, Emily Burton
Mary Thomas, R.N., was our first radiation nurse when the clinic opened. She worked as a chemotherapy nurse at the Cancer Treatment Center for 13 years, an operating room nurse for eight years and a surgical floor nurse. Mary is Oncology Certified by the National Oncology Nurse Association.
Vicky Rae Byrd, R.N., specializes in pediatric oncology. She has been bringing a love of people to her job and creating an excellent environment for learning since 1988. Before joining the Cancer Center Treatment team, she worked on the pediatric surgical oncology floor. Vicky Rae is recognized nationally as being certified in Oncology.
Lyanne Denherder, R.N., brings a wealth of experience to St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center with over 25 years in nursing. As well as being nationally certified in oncology, she has worked and managed the surgical floor and was a dialysis nurse for five years. Lyanne enjoys the support from all her peers and working with the wonderful patients.
Emily Burton, R.N., began her nursing career in 2002, working two years on St. Peter’s medical floor and three years on the surgical-onc-peds ward before joining the Cancer Center Treatment. Emily enjoys establishing a relationship with each and every one of the patients.
Radiation Therapy Nurse

Terri Stevens, LPN, has been with St. Peters since July of 1980, and with the Cancer Center since 2002. What Terri enjoys most about her job is the time she actually gets to spend with each patient.
