Patient Information
When you come to St. Peter’s the day of your surgery, please check in at the receptionist desk located in the main lobby of the Hospital. A volunteer will escort you to Same Day Services where you will be prepared for your surgical procedure. This process should take approximately one hour. After surgery, you will be taken to either a room on the Surgical Floor for an overnight stay or back to Same Day Services if you are to be released the same day.
St. Peter’s Hospital also provides patients with information on Advanced Directives, medical documents indicating preferences for care with specific documents including a Living Will and a Medical Durable Power of Attorney. If you would like information on Advanced Directives prior to your surgery, please call 444-2284 and leave a message with your name and telephone number. Someone will return your call within two working days. If you already have Advanced Directives, make sure your family knows about them and where they are located.
For your own protection, St. Peter’s requests that you limit the amount of personal property you bring to the Hospital. Please do not bring any valuables.
St. Peter’s is committed to providing very good care and excellent service. If there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable while you are the Hospital, please talk to your nurse. You may receive a survey in the mail following your procedure. Please return the survey to let us know how we are doing so we can improve our service. And, if we are providing very good care, please let us know.
If you have not already pre-registered with our Admitting Department, please call 447-2728 to do so before your surgery. Again, thank you for choosing St. Peter’s Hospital for your medical care.
