The Public Relations & Marketing Department is responsible for implementation of Hospital marketing programs, including external and internal communication, patient satisfaction monitoring, and advertising. Graphics, Volunteer Services, Community Education, Wellness, and the Safe Kids Safe Communities Coalition are all included within the department.

Locations
The Public Relations & Marketing Director’s office and the Volunteer Coordinators office are located within Human Resources on the lower level. The Community Education Coordinator is located near the front entrance. The Graphics Shop near Laundry on the lower level houses the Graphics Coordinator and Graphic Designer/Webmaster’s offices. The Wellness Coordinator’s office is located just inside the Hospital’s East Entrance, inside the Rehabilitation Department lobby.

Purpose
The purpose of the Public Relations & Marketing Department is to design and implement marketing and communications that are aligned with the Hospital’s overall strategic plan.

Services
The department’s staff works with all Hospital physicians, staff, volunteers, patients, departments, as well as strategic partners—Physician Clinics, Helena SurgiCenter, and New West Health Services. Staff also serves as liaisons to the community and works closely with area health care organizations in preventive health efforts.

The Public Relations & Marketing Department ensures a positive image for the Hospital through advertising, publicity, promotions, community events, and internal communications. Staff conducts semi-annual consumer surveys, implement annual communications and marketing plan, and monitors Hospital’s market share.

The Graphics Department ensures a quality; consistent image is used in all printed and designed materials and recognized throughout the Hospital and the community. Publishes all Hospital printed materials, designs advertising and other promotional items, manages web site.

Volunteer Coordinator:
Recruits, interviews, places, orients, trains, recognizes, evaluates, and supervises volunteers to meet needs of Hospital’s annual Strategic Plan. Provides assistance to departments in developing suitable volunteer work areas and job descriptions. Promotes effective and creative use of volunteers through training and supervision by staff. Instills in all volunteers an awareness of the need for confidentiality and ethical practices in relation to patients, families, and hospital staff.

Provides health and wellness education for the Hospital’s service area based upon health needs of the community. Coordinates American Heart Association’s Community Training Center.

Builds a healthier community by providing periodic wellness screenings for targeted businesses and individual groups based on community demand. Coordinates health and wellness fairs and events in the community.
