Real "Forrest Gump" to Speak at Hospital

  “Walking, Physical Activity and The Meaning of Life – How to Add Years to Your Life and Life to Your Years” will be presented in Helena by Robert Sweetgall at St. Peter’s Hospital on Friday, July 30, from 9-10:30 a.m.

   The free presentation designed to improve health through walking is sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield Montana and St. Peter’s.  Those attending should use the Hospital’s main entrance off of Winne.

   Participants will learn safe and sensible ways to increase physical activity levels, stretching and strengthening techniques to improve balance, posture and walking, the 14 healthy habits of successfully aging people, how to improve sleep and increase energy, and more health benefits through walking.  Casual, comfortable attire is suggested as there will be light, fun activities in this session.

   Sweetgall, nicknamed the real “Forrest Gump,” has walked seven times across America.  He has authored and co-authored 17 books on walking, wellness, and active living and appeared on NBC’s Today Show, CBS Morning News, Regis and Kathie Lee Live, National Public Radio and been quoted as an expert in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
