Tough Enough To Wear Pink (TETWP), the grassroots cowboy campaign to fight breast cancer, is gearing up for its second run in Helena, Friday, July 30 at the Last Chance Stampede and Fair. Rodeo cowboys and fans are asked to wear pink on that day to show support and help raise money for the local breast cancer patients of St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center. The rodeo arena will be decorated in pink and pink items such as t-shirts, hats, bandanas and Tropical-Sno will be sold. Cancer survivors will have the option of being seated in a special section for the rodeo. Women will again be able to learn the tricks of the rodeo trade at the
Chicks n’ Chaps will afternoon rodeo clinic.Raffle tickets will also be on sale for the grand prize of a craftsman lawn tractor, and other pink prizes. Custom "pink’ chaps, designed and donated by Deaton Custom Chaps, will be auctioned during the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" rodeo.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink was created five years ago by Napa, California resident Terry Wheatley to bring attention to the need for breast cancer early detection and a cure. The rodeo industry rose to the challenge as cowboys filled arenas across the country with the symbolic color.
