"Into the Wild – Outdoor Safety and Preparedness" will be presented by Family Practitioner Jessica Bailey, M.D. at St. Peter’s Hospital, Tuesday, May 4.  The free Better Living Lecture begins at 6 p.m., in the Hospital’s Education Center.  Dr. Bailey’s talk will cover the value and benefits of getting outdoors; what gear to bring; what information you need to know before heading out; how to deal with injuries and illness in the outdoors and how to get help if needed; what to include in a good first aid kit; and where to get further training for those who want more advanced wilderness medicine experience.  Information on St. Peter’s First Aid and CPR classes will be available before and after the lecture.

The "Better Living Lectures" are a series of free, educational health and wellness talks provided for the community on the first Tuesday of the month by St. Peter’s Hospital and The Waterford.  Those attending should use the Hospital’s Main Entrance.  For a schedule of upcoming "Better Living Lectures" at St. Peter’s, visit www.st.petes.org or call 444-2135.
