St. Peter’s "Lunch Box Lecture" topic for April is "Healthy Homes Make Healthy Families."  April 7th and 14th Dietitian Jennifer Colegrove will talk about covering the calorie needs of adults and children, understanding portion size, eating on the run, stress eating, planning menus and shopping lists, cooking quickly, dealing with picky eaters and involving children in the process. She will also cover dieting and its effects on body image with the messages we send to children.  April 21st and 28th,  Community Education Coordinator Margy Bartley will cover how to find activities for the whole family and build activity into your day, how to determine rewards and motivation, and how to prevent injury and enjoy the process.

The "Lunch Box Lectures" are short, informative and interactive health talks on Wednesdays, 12:15-12:45 p.m. at the Hospital’s Education Center.   Various aspects of one healthy living topic are covered in-depth each Wednesday for the entire month.  The cost per month is $5, which includes four talks and any handouts.  Those attending should bring a lunch, or arrive in advance to purchase a meal from the Hospital’s Continental Café.  Register in advance at www.stpetes.org, or call 444-2130 for more information.
