MEDIA RELEASE Orlinda Worthington 406-447-2520 For immediate release: January 25, 2010 St. Peter’s Wellness will offer free health screenings and education from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, at Macy's as part of the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" movement. Everyone is encouraged to wear red that day to show their awareness of heart disease being the number one killer of women. Free wellness screenings will be offered for Peripheral Arterial Disease, body mass index, and blood pressure monitoring. These physicians and medical experts will be present to answer heart-health questions: Cardiologist Kris Godlewski, M.D.; Family Practitioner Diane Nowak, M.D.; Audiologist Heather Lawrie; Physician’s Assistant Maria Brosnan; and St. Peter’s Wellness nurses and technicians. In addition, several departments from St. Peter’s will be on hand to deliver heart-health information: Ambulance and Emergency Services, Behavioral Health Unit, Heart disease remains the number one killer of women over age 25. “Go Red for Women” is celebrated nationally as a day to educate and empower women to take positive steps to reduce their risk of heart disease. Everyone is encouraged to attend “Go Red” to learn the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke, the risks for heart disease and how to take action to help reduce risk.
