Capitol Classic Fun Run

Sign up for St. Peter’s, New West Health Services and Capital City Health Club's annual one-mile fun run for kids! (Pre-registration required.)

The first 3 male and female run finishers will receive a limited Capital City Health Club membership.

The fun begins at 9 a.m. near the State Capitol, at the intersection of Montana and Broadway, with warm-up exercises by Capital City Health Club, music and youth activities. The run starts at 9:15 and follows a course to the St. Peter's Medical Group building across the street (Broadway) from the Hospital.  All runners who complete the race will receive a free back pack!

My Living Proof Photography by Carmen will take photos of youth crossing the finish line.  Runners can receive one complimentary photo.  Check back on this website for instructions on how to obtain your photo.

TO VIEW PHOTOS:

1. Go to http://www.mylivingproofphotography.com/

2. Click on the “About Me” link on the left-hand side

3. At the very bottom of the page, in the left-hand corner, click the white link to the “Gallery”

4. Scroll to the very bottom of the page where you will see a green horizontal sliding bar. Hover over that bar for it to move and click on the “Helena Fun Run” links. There are 4 different Fun Run galleries.

TO ORDER PHOTOS:

Send an email to Carmen at cbrusda@hotmail.com  or call her at 465-5336. Indicate which gallery the photo(s) are in and then count, starting from the left, the number of the photo you would like. (Example: Page 3, #17) Make sure you have scrolled all the way to the left before you start counting.

Also include your name, phone number and mailing address. Each runner can receive one free photo, additional photos are available for purchase. Please contact Carmen for pricing.

If you are able to send a “screen shot” of the image that might be helpful as well. To do this:

1. Hit the “print screen” button at the top right of your keyboard. If you are using a Mac, hit Command+Shift+3.

2. Paste the screen shot(s) into a new email by right-clicking or hitting Control+V (or Command+V on a Mac). If you are unable to paste into your email, paste into a Word document and send the Word document.

A free “Back to School Health Fair” begins in and outside the Medical Group building immediately after the run and continues until 11 a.m. Participants up to the age of 14 are invited to run or walk (family members are welcome along, but only those 14 and under need to register.) Local college and high school athletes will run along with the participants. 

Race Shirts
Runners that registered by Monday, August 6th receive orange T-shirts to wear at the run.  T-shirts may be picked up at New West Health Services, 130 Neill Ave., just east of the Helena Civic Center, between 1 and 5 p.m. August 15-17.

Health Fair
At the “Back to School Health Fair” there will be demonstrations, health and wellness booths, a human organ display, music, dunk tank, Sumo wrestling, obstacle course, carnival games and other youth activities.  In addition to popcorn and snow cones, free refreshments will be offered courtesy of Costo.  Prizes include Capital City Health Club memberships, Exploration Works tickets, and a Read Food Market & Deli basket.  Youth need not participate in the run to attend the health fair.

A limited number of free sports physicals are available at the health fair on a first-come-first-served basis. Please note that these physicals are too late for fall sports but can fulfill the requirement for winter and spring sports.

Prior to the physical, please complete a Montana High School Association Physical Exam form.

Physicals are located inside the Medical Group building. Youth must be accompanied by a parent.

You can register up to 4 runners on-line. If you need to register more, call 444-2369. Enter the information for each runner below. On the next screen, you will see a re-cap of the information you've entered. In the box that reads "quantity," leave that set to "1" regardless of the number of runners you have registered.

Please note: photos that contain images of participants may be taken at the event for publicity purposes. By registering and/or attending the Capitol Classic and Back to School Health Fair, you agree that images of you or your children may be used for publicity purposes.
