Instructed by a clinical nurse educator to teach new parents the basics of baby care including umbilical cord care, how to bathe a baby, steps of resuscitation, how to tell if baby is thriving, characteristics of infants and post-partum care of mom.

Taught by a certified lactation consultant, this class includes the benefits of human breast milk, anatomy and physiology of lactation, elements which promote successful feedings, determining adequate intake and breast pumping and returning to work. Both parents are asked to attend together or the new mom and her birthing coach/partner.
A 12 hour, 2 day, instructional program for youths ages 11 - 13 years old. Topics include how to handle emergencies, babysitting as a business, age appropriate activities, handling discipline and how to handle a choking child. Students must pass a written exam as well as demonstrating choking/rescue breathing on a mannequin.
Cost is $50/student, scholarships available upon request. Scholarhships take 3-4 weeks for processing, please allow time.
