Orthopaedic Surgery

Raised in Helena, Jody graduated from Carroll College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She  worked for the Cooperative Health Clinic prior to obtaining her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University. Jody takes special interest in pediatric and general orthopaedic medicine and loves practicing in her hometown. She is certified nationally with the NCCPA and works primarily with Dr. Ford’s practice.

A Helena native, Theresa completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education at the University of Montana. She served as a certified athletic trainer prior to earning a Master of Physician Assistant degree at the University of Utah. She comes to Saint Peter’s Medical Group after working as an orthopaedic physician assistant at the Fort Harrison VA Hospital. Ms. Vonada works primarily with Dr. Martin’s practice.

After graduating from Carroll College in 1990, John Michelotti, M.D. earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, where he also completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Michelotti moved to Helena from Vail, Colorado where he completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine.

John, and his wife Lori, enjoy biking, horseback riding and hiking throughout Helena's beautiful countryside.

Jeffrey Martin, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who comes to Helena from California where he practiced at Corona Temecula Orthopedic Associates.

Dr. Martin earned his Medical Degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in human biology at Loyola University of Chicago. Dr. Martin completed his fellowship at Surgical Specialty Hospital of Arizona and his residency and internship at Maricopa Medical Center, all in Phoenix.

Dr. Martin is excited to be in Montana and the great outdoors.

Dr. Iverson is board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He completed an Internship at the University of Oregon Hospitals in Portland. Dr. Iverson completed one year of General Surgery residency at Wadsworth VA Hospital in Los Angeles. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Iverson has been in private practice here in Helena since 1993.

Dr. Heetderks is board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Heetderks completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of New Mexico.

As a native Montanan, third generation physician, Dr. Heetderks has practiced in Helena since completing his training in 1990. He practices general orthopedics with interest in hand, shoulder, knee and joint replacement surgery.

A Helena native, Dr. Hanson has returned to Montana from a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed his residency in orthopaedics and an internship in internal medicine at Akron, Ohio; earned his M.D. at the University of North Dakota; B.S. at the University of Notre Dame; and B.A. at Carroll College.

**At this time, Dr. Hanson is accepting new patients.  No physician referral is necessary, however, some insurance companies require a physician referral.  Please check your insurance requirements.

Kerry Hale Ford, M.D., specializes in total joint replacement, pediatric orthopedics, and injury related to trauma.

Dr. Ford earned her Medical Degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She also completed a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, focusing on the management of hip dysplasia, clubfoot, sports injuries, trauma, and the management of orthopedic problems related to cerebral palsy.
